The Storm

Heavy winds were storming the Hidden Village of Konoha, the streets were emptied of any sign of life. All the villagers in the village were giving the order to seek shelter in the houses with more solid foudations than some smaller houses, and many families were forced to seek shelter in the several bunkers hidden around the village. Even the 5th Hokage, Tsunade, was forced to remain inside her office, along with her helper, Shizune, and her student, the pink-headed Kunoichi, Haruno Sakura.
Sakura was now at the age of 18, still studying to be a Medical Ninja, she was known throughout the whole village, and loved by most. Ever since she started her training under Tsunade, she quickly learned how to heal almost any kind of wound in a flash, counter every known poison in the world, and even manipulate her patient’s bodies to help them recover faster, or even cure handicaps. Some people even started to spread the rumor she could regenate lost limbs off people, like and arm of a leg.
Her figure had also changed alot as well, she was taller and, to the eyes of many, much more beutiful than most girls in the whole Fire Country. Her hair had grown much longer than when she was a teenager, now hanging in a ponytail, reaching the lower part of her back. She was still wearing her same Chuunin outfit, although her jacket was revealing her waist a bit more. She enjoyed having the boys in the village stare at her, all drooling, when she would walk pass them in the streets.
“Where is he? We sent someone to tell him to come seek shelter here hours ago! He should know that his house can’t handle such a storm!” yeld Tsunade.
“I don’t know...” said Sakura, staring outside at the village, lost in her thoughts.
They were talking about Konoha’s top Juunin, Uzumaki Naruto. The blond boy had, since the defeat of Akatsuki, reached a level of strength that none has ever reached before, having succesfully tamed the Kyuubi trapped inside of him, Naruto’s powers were beyond that of anyone else in the 5 Ninja Countries, and that included the 5 Village Leaders.
“But I’m sure he’s fine, he may be stupid and reckless, he wouldn’t put himself in danger for no reason, not right now...” said Sakura, as her green eyes started to fill with water.
“I really hope your right, said Shizune, this storm keeps getting worst, hopefully he made it to a bunker and is safe there.”
“That’s probably the case.”


The heavy winds were not helping him keeping his focus, but he refused to give in, he knew he could do it, it was the only Jutsu he still had trouble mastering, and this time was the perfect change to practise it. Naruto was standing alone in the middle of the 3th training area, the vast, open field was perfect to train, with no trees or rocks to slow the wind down.
“I will do it! With this, I will finally be able to have some sort of defense in battle!”
Naruto turned around, he could see the village from here very clearly, but his attention was focused on the Hokage’s mansion.
“I’m sorry Sakura... but I won’t make you wait much longer, I promise.” He said, blue eyes now gleaming with power.
Naruto placed his hands before him, and perfomed a few hand signs.
“Wind Style! Storm Barrier Jutsu!”
As he yelled the words, Naruto released a masive amount of chakra in front of him, as a big blue ball of energy, and send it flying foward. Inches away from him, the chakra ball exploxed, forming a barrier around him. Behind the barrier, Naruto could clearly see everything in front of him, as if nothing was shielding him, but he could fell no wind, no disturbance, and hardly any sound. The barrier blocked everything. Naruto grinned, he succeded in performing his first real defensive Jutsu, a Jutsu he created himself too!
“Well, now I know its working, I should head back now.”
“Hey Kid...” Naruto stopped thinking, and losed his eyes, only to open them again in front of the Kyuubi. The 9-Tails was standing in front of him, free to move around at his own will.
“So you,ve finally mastered that Jutsu of yours huh? Does that mean I won’t have to play dodge swords since you won’t get run throught with one anymore?” said Kyuubi in a laugh.
“I guess you could say that.” answered Naruto, who was kind of amused by what the Kyuubi said.
“Keep in mind that last time, the sword came from behind, and it was a Chakra Blade, not really a sword...”
“Also keep in mind that I’m the reason you still breathe today... don’t you forget it!”
“I won’t, don’t worry about it. On that note, I have to get going before my body gets hit by something and I die on the spot.”
“So be it, you better make it to safety alive, I don’t want to die because of a knucklehead like you just yet...”
Naruto closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he was back on the training grounds. It had started to rain, and the rain was cold! Naruto’s lips turned blue has he tried to keep himself warm, he knew he had to go find some shelter now. He turned around, facing Konoha. Focusing all his chakra in his legs, he vanished from where he stood. A few seconds later, he was in front of the Hokage’s mansion.
He entered the mansion, his cloths we’re soaked and he was freezing, but inside the building, away from the winds, he could feel the heat coming back again. Naruto headed for the staircase, and climbed them up to the top floor, to Tsunade’s office.
Sakura was now crying, she was positive something had happened to him, if he was in a shelter, he would have let her know, one way or another. All she wanted to do now was going out there and look for him, but her master had forbidden such thoughts, and Sakura, while being amasingly strong herself, was still no match for Tsunade.
“Don’t worry Sakura, I’m sure he’s fine, he’s probably hiding somewhere, safe from the storm.’’ Said Tsunade, trying the cheer up her student.
“It dosen’t matter! He should be here with me by now! He knows that!” screamed Sakura as she turned around to face her master.
She had stopped crying, but anyone could see the sadness and how she was worried.
“You really do love him alot, don’t you, Sakura?”
Sakura was suprised by her master’s question, as her cheeks slowly turned pink, she turned he head slowly, looking away.
“Of course I do... he’s everything I have left... my parents are... gone... and...”
Someone knocked on the door.
“Come in.” said Tsunade.
The door slowly opened, and behind it was the blond-haired shinobi, and with him, a small, shy smile.
“Heh... hi... sorry I’m late” said Naruto as he entered the room.
“Good lord! Look at yourself! Your completly soaked and your clothed are ruined! Where the hell were you?!” said Shizune.
“I was training. Or rather, I was testing a new Jutsu, and this weather is perfect of doing so, I couldn’t waste this chance to...”
Naruto stopped as he felt two arms wrap around him.
“Don’t you ever do something like this again! I was worried sick about you!” yelled Sakura at her friend.
Naruto smiled, placing one hand on Sakura’s head, brushing her hair with his fingers. With his free hand, he took her and gave her a small hug. She looked at him for a moment, tears in her eyes, before hiding her face in his chest again.
“I’m sorry I made you worried Sakura, I won’t do that again, I promise you.”
She remained silent, but she wouldn’t not let go of him, she stay’d in his arms, and slowly stopped crying.
“Well, its good to see your safe, but your still soaked, we’ll lend you some clothes, and I guess new training clothes as well, those are completly useless now. Sakura, would you help him find some dry clothes, and also a place to sleep, he won’t be leaving until tomorrow morning...” said Tsunade.
“Oh but I can find a place to-” Naruto started saying.
“And that is an order!, quickly replied Tsunade, you made my student worried to death for hours, at least let her know your safe for a while.
Naruto looked back down at Sakura, who still had her head leaning towards his chest, but at least she had stopped crying.
“Understood ma’am.” Calmly answered Naruto.
“Now that this is out of the question, you two get going, and Sakura, once you’re done, come back here, I need to talk to you.”
“Yes Sensei.” said Sakura, she then pushed naruto out the door and they left the office.
Tsunade and Shizume remainded silent for a few seconds, then Tsunade started walking towards the door.
“I have to do something really fast, I’ll be back in a few minutes, stay here in case Sakura comes back Shizume.”
“Yes Tsunade-sama...”

Sakura and Naruto we’re walking around the building, they found some dry clothes for Naruto, but as for a place to spend the night, that was a bit more complicated, usually doing that would have been very easy, but because of the storm, a lot of villagers we’re staying inside, their house either not safe enough or compleltly ravaged by the harsh winds.
“This storm is gonna hurt a lot more people than it looks like...” said Naruto.
“I know, and what’s really sad, is that most of those we have inside right now are children, orphans, and poor families, they have enough problems as it is... I just don’t know what to do...” answered Sakura, her voice was breaking a little, but not enough for Naruto to notice.
As they passed the main hall, they could hear voices and whispers, Sakura stopped and took a quick look inside, the voices turned out to be children crying in their sleep, most of them were still awake, afraid of what could happen.
“Sakura-chan...” said a small voice.
Sakura looked down, some of the children were up and were looking at her, their eyes filled with fear.
“Sakura-chan... we’ll be okay right? Nothing will happen to us, right?” said the young boy who was standing in front of the group. By the looks of it, he was pretty much the ‘’leader’’ of the small group.
“Of course not, everyone in the village is safe, they’re all hiding from the storm and waiting for it to pass.”
“But I’m scared!” said a younger girl that was standing in the middle of the group. She was on the brink of tears. Sakura picked her up in her arms, trying to confort her.
“Don’t be, Hokage-sama is here, she’ll make sure nothing happens to everyone in here, and I’m here too, so don’t worry, I’ll protect you too.”
The girl stopped crying, clearly she wasn’t as scared now, but she was still uncertain of what was gonna happen.
By the time they cleared all the doubts the children had, all the other kids in the room were up and awake. Sakura let out a small sigh, she was about to go in when Naruto grabbed her by the arm.
“I’ll handle it Sakura, you go do what you have to do, Tsunade-sama wanted to see you and you still have to find me a spot to spend the night.” Said Naruto with a grin on his face.
“Thanks Naruto... I owe you one.” Sakura said. She left the room and headed back to tsunade’s office. She could hear Naruto talking to the kids behind her.
“Hey kids! Wanna see a cool trick? Shadow Clone Jutsu!” followed by a poofing sound. All the kids we’re yelling and laughing, they had completly forgotten the storm and we’re now looking at Naruto’s tricks. Sakura couldn’t help but smile and, to her surprise, she even blushed.

Tsunade was sitting at her desk, waiting for Sakura. She had told Shizume to take a break for the night, so she was alone. She had a scroll opened up before her and she was studying it carefully. She heard someone knock and told the person to come in.
“I’m sorry I took so long Sensei, we found a few children that were scared of what what happening outside, we had to cheer them up.”
“It’s fine, I was checking something here anyway. Naruto isn’t with you, so I suppose you found him a place to stay tonight?”
“No... he stayed downstairs with the children, he’s playing with them until they can sleep again, as for a place for him to spend the night, the whole mansion is packed, I don,t think they are any other places available...”
“Have him sleep in your room then.” Said Tsunade without any hesitation.
Sakura’s eyes opened wide, and her face was beat red. She couldn’t believe what her master just said. Naruto sleeping in her room? They would have to share the same bed, and it wasn’t a very big one too!
“M-M-Ma-Master w-wh-what are you saying?!” I can’t do that! I’m...”
“You’re what?” sharply answered Tsunade.
Sakura remainded silent, she had no idea what to say. Tsunade sighed and got up, she came to her student and placed herself inches away from Sakura face.
“Listen Sakura, you should see this as an oppurtunity. He has nowhere else to go and you know you want this. Don’t take me wrong though, all I’m saying you should do is sleep with him, share your bed, nothing more. He will probably be very happy, and so will you.”
“O...Okay... I will then. Now what was it you wanted to tell me?”
“Don’t worry about it, it can wait, besides, we’re both tired and that knucklehead probably is too, go get some rest, you need it. Tomorrow morning, I want you in my office at 10:00 sharp.”
“Yes ma’am!”
Sakura bowed and left, at first she was walking, but the though of spending the night with Naruto gave her some more strength, she didn’t realise it, but she was now running to where he was, ans she was happy. She got to where naruto and the children were, and as she was about to open the door, it opened before her. Naruto came out, then closed it behind him.
“Hey Sakura, the kids are all fast-asleep now, never would have though that having a few clones transform into a bunch of dogs and play with them for 1ten minutes would do the trick, but it did!”
Sakura smiled, she was looking at him and started to daydream a little, she was seeing herself, along with Naruto, walking in the streets of Konoha, with a dog and a chold on Naruto’s shoulders. For some reason, she really liked that thought.
“Heh Sakura...? You okay? ... Sakura?” asked Naruto as he was waving his hand his front of her eyes.
Sakura then woke up from her daydreaming, her cheeks turned pink, as she remembered what she had to say to Naruto.
“Oh right... euh Naruto... about where your going to sleep, well, it seems we have no room left... so... you’ll be sleeping in my room... with me.” Said Sakura, her face as red as a cherry.
Naruto didn’t seem to believe it a first, but went he looked in her eyes and noticed she was serious, his heart screamed in joy. He simply could not believe that he was gonna spent the night with Sakura.
“Okay Sakura, that’s fine with me as long as it’s fine with you.”
“It is...” she said to herself. “Well let’s go then, I’m tired and I want to sleep.”
“Yeah!” answered Naruto with a huge smile on his face.
They got to Sakura’s room, and once inside, naruto was suprised at how... sad... the room looked. It had one small window in the back, but you couldn’t see anything because of a tree right in front of it, the walls were plain, no posters or anything like that, a small, one-person only bed, a bookshelt filled with Medecine books, a work table with a chair, and a light at the celling.
“Looks good.” lied Naruto.
“You really think so? I think it’s kinda empty, but I have nothing to put here anyway... so I guess it’s fine.”
Sakura sat on her bed, and started changing into her night gown, a beutiful, light blue gown. Naruto stared at her, he could only see her back as she was changing, but all he had in mind was how pretty he thought Sakura was. She turned to him once she was done changing.
“Well, aren’t you going to change? Or do you want to sleep with your clothes on?” she laughed.
“Right... euh... since we’re sharing the same bed, it’s all up to you really, I usually sleep with only my boxers on, is that ok with you?”
She smiled at him.
“Yes of course it is. After all, I won’t be held responsible if you try to do something you shouldn’t do...”
Naruto had a ‘’I’m-so-not-making-it-through-this-alive” smile on his face, as he started taking off his gear and clothes. Sakura was looking at him, blushing, she never noticed it before, but Naruto was really good looking. When he took off his shirt though, it was a whole different story, Sakura had never seen Naruto topless recently, and his new training, as well as his body growing, she though Naruto was ripped. She as blushing even more now that she turned around and lied in her bed right away.
“Something wrong Sakura?” asked Naruto.
“Nothing, nothing, don’t worry about it...”
“Dear lord why are you putting me through this! This is torture!” thought Sakura to herself.
She felt Naruto sitting, then lying in bed next to her. He took the sheets and palced them on the two of them.
“Good night Naruto.” She said.
“Good night Sakura, sweet dreams.”
“Yeah right, as if I’m going to sleep with those abs staring at me like that!” she thought to herself.
A few minutes passed, and Sakura started to shiver, she didn,t know why, but she was freezing, she started thinking that she really would not sleep that night, but she felt an arm wrapping around her waist, and Naruto cuddling her.
“Are you cold Sakura? You keep trembling.”
“A little, but not anymore, thank you Naruto.”
She turned around, facing him, she gazed at his open eyes for a moment, and he did the same. Slowly the gaze became hypnotic, and she fell into a deep sleep in his arms. Naruto was still awake, he was staring at her face, then he too was getting sleepy, he slowly closed his eyes, thinking about how well he would sleep tonight. For the first time of his life, he wasn’tfeeling alone, although he had slept with people during missions before, these people weren’t Sakura, and it was never this close. He drew her a bit closer to him, making sure to keep her warm and, like if it was a natural thing to him, to keep her safe from anything that could hurt her. As the last ounce of his strength left him, he let her warm touch slowly take him away.
He wasn’t dreaming about anything, but he was happy nonetheless, he was with Sakura, he couldn’t possibly ask for anything more. To him, the raging storm outside had passed, and this night would forever remained engraved in his mind as the first night of his life where he was truly able to forget everything about his life and rest. He wished for it to last forever, but little did he know, this wasn’t meant to be the last time such a feeling would keep him company through the many nights to come.
